ARTH - Headwear Store
On a recent trip to the west coast I had an opportunity to visit the ARTH hat store. Located at The Lab on Bristol St. this should definitely be on your spots list to check out. The clean & clear layout of the store is impressive & the hat assortment expansive. They carry everything from fedoras, gatsbys, military, beanies, handcrafted wool hats & a few fitteds. Arth seemed to carry mostly independent brands along with the regulars such as Kangol, Goorin, Dobbs, Stetson, & others. The only fitted cap brand being represented here was New Era & the styles being carried were a bit dated. It would be interesting to see if Arth starts to offer more fitted assortment in styles & brands? Regardless of their fitted game this is a spot to see & pick up a hat to expand your headwear game. Check back for more updates.
Still Life NYC Spring 07
Here is a small snap shot of Still Life's new Spring 07 pieces. This fine product represents SL NYC dedication to quality headwear. The first one is a newsboy hat that they call The Cosby. Laced with fine herringbone linen fabric this is definitely a classy choice for individual representation. The same fabric is shared along side a classic baseball cap & one my favorites - The Fedora. This particular style, which they call The Dumile, is constructed in the standard panama woven construction. The hat sports a tapered pinch front crown, 2"inch brim, a nice satin bow band, & trim detail button. SL NYC offers an aggressive selection of headwear that gives you a break from the wool cap. Check Still Life for the entire offering & other locations that carry the product.

The Rag Beanie by Testify
The "rag" look has been open for a while now. This knit hat uses cut panels while exposing all the loose threads & seams giving it a inside out look. I found this one on the Affrancir site. Made by Testify this one features a distressed crest graphic over the panels. Also available in black, gray, & deep purple... find it here.
